The behavior of a domestic dog, scientifically known as Canis lupus familiaris, refers to the collection of behaviors by a canine. Dogs are believed to be influenced by environmental, genetic, situational and social causes. Being a subspecies of the grey wolf, a domestic dog share many of its behavioral characteristics with its forebears.
