Oral appliances are indicated for patients with primary snoring (i.e. a laboratory sleep study excludes obstructive sleep apnoea and the snoring is disturbing others) or those obstructive sleep apnoea patients with mild to moderate disease who prefer oral appliances to CPAP, do not respond to or fail CPAP, or are not appropriate candidates for CPAP.
